Can't get enough of Holiday Stitching

First, I would like to thank all of you who
took the time to visit TDIPT last week
for the December update.
I am always humbled by your
support and patronage.
~***~
I got a few other pieces finished and
I love to post these for you to see.
* * * *
I've stitched 2 primitive heart pinkeeps.
The left is motifs from Blackbird
Designs and the other is just a little
motif of mine.
They're stuffed with sawdust and
backed with ticking and homespun.
* * * *
Next is a freebie I stitched from Pineberry Lane that I found
on Patternmart.
When I saw it I was just so inspired that I had to stitch
it right away.  I think I copied it right down to the last
detail, but I just love it so.
This is so prim.  I'm not sure if you can see
them well, but there are tiny little jingle bells
stitched to each corner.
Wendy is probably one of my most favorite
designers and I'm sure many of you agree.
* * * *
I also stitched up a little reproduction fabric ditty bag
with a small hanging pinkeep.
I love using wool these days and added
wool holy and some of my French ribbon
I collect.
* * * *
I'm stitching a new Winter Sampler design.
 I have a feeling my friend Marianne from
Midnight Stitching will be happy to hear this news.
I hope to have this done for release at the
beginning of the year.
~**~
Thank you again for your visits to my
blog and enjoy this wonderful season.
Blessings,
~Nan

A Stitcher's Finish

Hi friends. I know it's been awhile.
This is quite a busy time of year
for all of us and I have been
spending every spare moment
decorating and stitching for my
TDIPT post on Wed. night.
* * * * *
I have a Stitcher's Finish
to show you.
Both of these finishes are
done by my sweet pal, Dora.
She sent me these awhile
ago, but with all that is
going on these days, I just
haven't had a chance to
post them.
Check out these
pretties....
She stitched the Christmas freebie.
Done on osnaburg with silver eyelash
trim.  Wow! so pretty.
* * * * *
She has also stitched Harvest
Moon.
I love the crocheted lace. Gives it
such a vintage look.
Thank you so much Dora for sharing
your wonderful finishes.
~ * ~
Until next time, enjoy the season
and happy stitching.

TWO NEW PATTERN RELEASES

Hi Friends.  I am truly excited
about these two new patterns.

The first is "Noblewoman's Pouch".
( Border stitch count 64 by 77
Motif stitch count 39 by 39)

 This pattern was designed
hand in hand with my friend and
partner, Mimi, of The Restoration
of My Humble Spirit.
We are both very proud of the
way it turned out.  I really enjoyed
the stitching and the finishing
on this.  It was so much fun to
put together.
The model was worked on 30ct Straw
linen by WDW using a combination
of GA and WDW floss.
* * * * *
The next is "Falling Leaves Sampler"
( Pattern stitch count 91 by 117)

I tried to use all the colors in this that
reminded my of Autumn.
The model was stitched on 32ct
Ligonier Latte linen by R&R
and also uses a combination of
GA and WDW floss.

Both patterns are $10.00 and can be
purchased from me via email or
through my Etsy Shop

Thank you for all your continued support
and your friendship.
Wishing you many Happy Stitches!

Happily Stitching

Sorry that I haven't posted much
in awhile.  We had our computer crash
last week and it just would not restart.
Luckily my DH, who
can do and fix almost anything, was
able to diagnose the problem and
get it back up and running. YEAH!
Seems the memory cards were
really dusty and were not making
contact.  Needless to say, our
computer is as dust free inside
as we could get it.
I did feel quite faint at the thought
of not being able to access my
cross stitch files. YIKES!
AND I thought I had lost
the 2 new patterns that
I just finished up.
I hope to release them this weekend.
One is the "Falling Leaves
Hornbook Sampler" and the
other is the "Noblewoman's
Pouch".
* * *
Otherwise, I have been
happily stitching.
Here is a picture of some of
the things I've been working
on.  I have some wonderful
finishes in mind for these.
I'm still working on Merry Christmas
by Goode Huswife, but Black Walnut
Tree by Notforgotten Farm and
Christmas Night by Chartmakers
are all stitched and ready to
be finished.
* * *
Well, enjoy the rest of your
week and thanks for stopping
by to visit.
Happy Stitching.

Falling Leaves Hornbook

Well, I must say
I am very pleased with
the way this hornbook
sampler turned out.
So much so that I
couldn't part with it.
Is that terrible?
It will stay in our home
and be displayed with
our other Fall decorations.
Hope to release a pattern
for it.  That helps justify
keeping it. :)

Enjoy your weekend and
as always, thank you so
much for stopping by to
visit.
Happy Stitching.

Some Progress

Happy Sunday my friends.
It is so gorgeous out today.  I was up in my
sewingstudio with all the windows open
and italmost felt like I was outside.

In my last post I showed you
the start of a new Fall alphabet sampler
I'm stitching.  I've made some progress
in the fact that it's all stitched and the
hornbook that I want to mount it on is cut
out.  I need dear hubby to drill a proper
hole in the whale tale top for me
and then it's on to staining and waxing.
I think I'll use a nice dark stain
to make the sampler really pop.
I stitched this with WDW and GA
floss and I love the mix of Fall colors
on it.
* * * * * * *
Ruthe and I have been hard at work on our
next pattern together.  It's a cross stitched
pocket.  It's been a bit tricky to get
this one charted, but it's really coming
along nicely.
Here's a sneak peek.
I still have a ways to go with finishing,
but I am really excited about this one.
I'll try and post pics as things progress
on the pocket.
* * * * *
Thanks for visiting and for all your
wonderful comments.
Hope you are having beautiful
weather where you are too.
Smiles,
~Nan

Sunday Stitching

It's been quite chilly
and very Fall like in Philadelphia
these past few days.
Good stitching weather : )
Hubby and I watched the Eagles
game yesterday and I made sure
to have needle in hand for those
3 or so hours.
I am, of course, still in
Halloween/Fall mode, so
I put together this wool pumpkin
pincushion and trimmed it in
with some yummy cinnamon chenille
from
 I'm very much drawn to the
chocolate browns,
rusts, and dark mustards at
this time of year.
* * * * *
I also began work on a new Fall inspired
alphabet sampler that I hope to
attach to a wooden hornbook.
It will be full of all the things
that are reminiscent of Autumn.
Got to get ready for TDIPT.
It comes around so fast and
I want to have a few things to
offer this month.
* * * * *
Hope you are enjoying some Fall
like weather where you are!
Happy Stitching.

Threadwork Primitives and TDIPT
have made it into PRIMS magazine.
I am very excited and honored
to have a piece of my work
published in the Autumn 2011
issue.  They have done a super
10 page spread on our TDIPT
(To Dwell in Primitive Thymes)
group and have featured my
"Harvest Moon" pin pillow, along
with many other of my fellow TDIPT
artist's creations.

I would like to thank Karen Brady of
Brady Bears Studios for working
so hard on this idea and writing such a
wonderful article about our group.
 Please drop by TDIPT Mercantile
tonight for their update.

A Weekend of Stitching

Hi all.  Thank you very much to everyone
for their comments on the new patterns
and to everyone who purchased them.
The first shipment was sent
out on Friday, so you should
have them very soon.
* * * * * * *
It was a stitching weekend for me
and I got a few things done
and one big accomplishment.
I have a design that I started
about a year ago.  I stitched and
planned on turning it into a
sewing roll.  It has sat on my studio
floor just staring at me all this time.
I just never seemed to have the time to give
it the attention it was going to need
and I am not like that.  I never let things
sit around.
Yesterday I just couldn't look at
it sitting there unfinished anymore, so
I got to work on it and put the final
stitches in it late last night.
Here it is......
Stitched on 30ct linen with
Gentle Art threads.
The back and inside pocket are done
using stained silk matka
and the flower using scraps of
over dyed wool.
I really like how it turned out and I am
so glad I took some time to finish it.
* * * * * * *
I also completed a pinkeep
using my Harvest Moon design.
and an itty bitty wool pumpkin on
a prim painted box.
Can you tell that
I am so into the Halloween
season?
Well, back to stitchin'.
Thanks for stopping by.

2 New Patterns and a Freebie

Hi Friends.  I am so excited to show
you the two new pattern releases.
The first is called "Side by Side Sampler".
It's the 2nd collaboration with R.M. Martz
(aka Mimi) or as we like to call it
Worke #2.
This is an alphabet sampler with a twist.
It's stitched on two different color
Weeks Dye Works linens.
One side is Confederate Gray,
the other is Beige and it's sewn
together down the middle joining the two.
* * * * *
The next pattern is one that I have gotten many requests for.  I wanted to get it all written up and formatted so everyone would have enough time to finish it for Halloween.
Thank you all for your patience, while I got this one together!
It's Oct. Jack!
This is a quick stitch and I had a lot of fun making it.
 His eye are little black beads.

Both of these patterns will be available in my Etsy Shop later today or you may email me to make a purchase.
* * * * *
Now for the freebie.  I have wanted to do this for awhile and since Halloween is such a favorite holiday of so many, I thought I'd make it a Halloween freebie.
Here is All Hallows Eve.
Click image to open and print.

I hope you will all enjoy stitching this little freebie.
Just my way of thanking all of my stitching and blogging friends.
* * * * *
Tonight is the TDIPT update.  I have a few finished items that I will be listing.  I hope you can stop by for a peek.
Until next time..... Happy Stitching!

A Stitcher's Finish

Hi all.  I have a finish to show you done by
my blogging friend Michelle.
She has stitched Enchanted Crow and
has it already to display for Halloween.
She says that it so reminds her of the hat
in Harry Potter.  I would agree since I
just love those movies.

Thanks Michelle, well done and it's great
to see your finish.
* * * * *
As you know, if you've read my last post,
my beloved Brother sewing machine got
fried during the big Hurricane Irene
storm and I've been out of commission
so to speak.
There was no delay in me finding and ordering a new one and it arrived, in all it's glory, yesterday.
Oh joy!  Sewing bliss!  I spent today testing it out
and got a few things finished up.
Boy, does it feel good
 to be sewing again.
Presenting..... Brother Se-400.
It's awesome.
I hope to show you some new finishes soon.
* * * * *
I also have 2 patterns that are almost ready
for releasing.  One is an alphabet sampler
that Mimi of Restoration of My
Humble Heart and I created together
and the other is the
Oct. Jack Pinkeep that I stitched and
showed you in my  last post.
Plus, I have a freebie planned!
I know, I know, we all love freebies! ; )
Happy Stitching.

A Bowl Full of Halloween

Well, it's been one heck of a week.  Hurricane Irene caused quite a scare and a few problems at the Lewis residence.  A tree blew down and took out the transformer on our street.  It sent some sort of electric spike into our house and we lost power for awhile and a few key items.  One of which being my wonderful and faithful Brother sewing machine.  Oh the tears... :(
I know it could be worse, but gosh I loved that machine.  I will need to purchase a new one soon so that I can get back to what I love.  I can still cross stitch, but there won't be any finishing going on.
 * * * * *
On a happier note, I've got a picture of the pinkeeps I did finish before Irene fried my sewing machine.

I love how these came out and it has put a smile on my face today to see them all together in my big wooden dough bowl.  I hope to be listing these this month on TDIPT.
* * * * *
I hope that all of you came through the storm ok.  I know that many areas had lots of flooding.  It was quite an ordeal for all in the path of Irene.
Prim Blessings,
~Nan

A Big Thank You and A Bit Of Finishing Work

I want to thank all of you
for your interest in my humble
designs and for your
friendly comments and emails.
I really and truly enjoy visiting
with you and getting to know
each one of you.
Thank you to everyone who
purchased "Enchanted Crow"
They have all been shipped and
are on their way to you.
* * * * * * *
Now, if you remember
last Saturday I posted
some little designs I had
stitched up.  Today was my
last day off from work till
who knows when :( , so I got
to work finishing one.
Here is my "Oct 31st Jack".
It's not stuffed yet, but I
liked it so much I had to show
you.
Let me know what you think : )
I always have a great time
reading you comments and
really appreciate your visit.
Until next time.
Happy Stitching everyone.
Smiles and hugs,
~Nan

Halloween Decorating ~ YEAH !!!

Yes, that's right.
I have spent the entire day
cleaning and decorating for
Autumn/Halloween.
You may think it a bit early,
but I have 3,
yes count them,
3 glorious days off from work.
So, along with designing,
stitching and
finishing, I now have a
house all decorated for
my favorite of all holiday,
Halloween and a clean
one at that !
Can you imagine my
smiling face :D.
* * * * *
WARNING...
Picture Heavy Post.
click pics to enlarge
* * * * *
Other than the cross stitch
pieces, all of my decorations are
hand made by other artisans.
I have been collecting prim
Halloween pieces for years.
Can you tell?
Hope it wasn't too much
to look at in one viewing,
but I am so pleased with
how the house looks.
I will sit back tonight
and take it all in,
while I stitch the new design
I created this morning.
I'd say it was a very
productive first day off :)
Smiles,
~Nan
