Peacock Wallpocket

I just purchased this super fabric wallpocket from my new friend Robby of Glory River Primitives. Isn't it fantastic! I had to post a picture and show everyone. I just love it so much. Robby is truly talented and her primitives are DIVINE! She sells her beautifully stitched items at her Lemon Poppy Seed Shop
Check her out.....she's got some wonderful items.

My Latest Creation

Quaker Pinkeep and Box

I had been imagining this box for days and finally got to work on it this week. This was my first attempt at a box like this and I like how it came out. Cross stitch is my main passion, next to my husband of course. You learn a lot the first time you make something, and that's good because that means the next one should be even better. This project was really fun to work on. I hate to sell it but I can't keep everything. Right? Anyway, this was a freebie pattern by Lune D'Automne. I just Love free patterns.
Well, have a great weekend everyone

Cross Stitch Challenge...Photos

Today I finished my Peacock Challenge piece! I decided to use the entire pattern because I love old samplers and just adored the pattern the way it was.
I made it into a pinkeep. One of my favorite things to stitch. I did add the date to it which is the date that the real sampler was made. I wanted this to look European so I used some bold colors. I stitched this up using weeks dye works threads in Turkish Red, Swamp Water and Gold on 32 count linen.
After it was all stitched I ordered this fabric online because it had all of my floss colors in it. It's called civil war classics. I stuffed this with sawdust and added a herringbone stitch to the front. I also whipped stitched the ends closed.
I really enjoyed making this. It was such a fun challenge.
